Probably the easiest way is to use the Zones UI, which you can access with it's hotkey (N by default) or the PDA. That will open a UI for painting zones in the world.
Click and drag to select a rectangle full of tiles, and then click "Create Zone" in the UI. It'll give you an option to make it a "Barter" zone, which will make items within be accessible in shop UIs, even if you are a transit stop away.
The shop UI also has a checkbox for sending purchased items directly to your barter zone. And you should similarly see items in your "Sell" tab sorted by the zone they're in.
Note that you can only make Barter zones on your own ship, though.
A slightly less convenient option is to find or purchase a dolly, which lets you carry a larger number of items each trip. Or hire crew to help.
But the zones tool is usually my go-to for this!
