EVA Suit Bug?
My EVA Suit seems to have stopped working, or rather, is working poorly, as if the carbon filter were not working. I have a fresh carbon filter (though the last was still at something like 99 percent condition), the suit is in great condition, as is the battery, filter, and helmet. I've completely removed and re-equipped the suit, etc, but for some reason, this happens, and then I'm spammed with "vaguely unwell and flushed" the whole time I use it.

Hmm. I don't see any obvious issues there.

CO2 poisoning *does* start with similar symptoms, but the filters shouldn't fail on you like that. Does hovering over your character reveal anything about the trend of CO2 in your suit over time?

Or for that matter, is the room you're in flush with CO2, or something like that? Maybe the room is worse than the suit?

Here's another screenshot. Hovering over the character doesn't seem to reveal any obvious issues or CO2 buildup. The CO2 outside of him in the ship he's on is higher, but would that matter in an EVA suit? If I let it go on long enough, my character actually gets sick. I might try buying a new EVA suit and see if it works better.

Yup! It was the suit itself (not the helmet). Even though the suit was at 99.92% condition, apparently it had borked. Upon buying the a black EVA suit from the fence at Mescaform, and wearing that (along with the old orange EVA helmet), I no longer get the warnings. Interestingly, I did notice the old suit had different pressure amounts, at top levels, whereas the new suit stays at the nominal levels.

Nope. Sorry, it started up again, soon as I put the suit back on at my ship to check out a new derelict.

Same thing happened to me. Popped the old battery out to recharge it, popped it back in and when I click the suit it says no charge. Took me a loooong time to figure out what the problem was. The battery is fully charged but when put into the suit it shows as empty.

edit: I tried buying a new suit and it also doesn't have a charge

Thanks for the heads-up!

I *think* this might just be a UI issue with that top right MegaTooltip (MTT) charge bar. In your screenshot, the orange suit is listed as "Bingham-12 EVA Suit", which is the powered version of that item. If it was off, it would say "Bingham-12 EVA Suit (Off)".

Just to be sure, I tried spawning the suit and a helmet, and popped the battery out. The helmet HUD disappeared when the battery was out, and reappeared when I placed the battery back in. But the charge bar in the MTT remained empty the whole time.

I'm going to log that charge bar UI bug, as that is definitely broken. But if you're getting results different from what I describe above, let me know!

I have noticed that you get short on air when you remove your helmet and you put it back on in a thinner than required air. But the you air bottle should fix that in a couple of minutes (game time).

But it could be an issue that you have encountered also. But I never had any problems with my suits so far, whether they were bought, restored or repaired.

Yeah, the charge is an ongoing UI bug. It is not just the MTT, but also when you have the suit in any inventory and hover over it.

I have the same issue occasionally.
If you put your EVA suit on in an atmosphere that's deadly to your char, it needs often too long to get to normal levels again and your char dies.
And sadly that's not just the case for hard vacuum. But also temperature, too much CO2, too little O2 or any combination of the above.
Often it feels like the EVA suit gets treated as the pressure suit, but I am not 100% sure if that'S the case or if it is just very slow.
