like the title. Which nation has the best defensive buildings/units?

Persia, but only if those rocket launchers take no pop. Why I say this? because despite it only being manual fire, if you have enough of them you have a grid square removal weapon system that can annihilate an entire ground force in one or two volleys. The only way to counter it is to split up your force and hope they didn't see your flanking move. Turkey is also good once you have insane number of artillery turrets, they don't need manual fire. Austria with wonder emma can be good but they use your population, but they have greater range.

And that's if you mean a good turtle, Germany can be good for turtling with but very hard due to material cost. Turkey or Persia for sure.

But Poland has it all imo, both mines, meaning you could build and build more and more barracks etc and have almost unlimited resources in late game, you can spam what ever you want ez.

Each country is unique, some would tell you otherwise, i'd tell them to play more... China is an aggressive expansionist, its only real way is to expand, consume and crush its enemies which is how i like to play. Every country is designed with a specific play style in mind, every country when added is by default OP, that is a marketing strat, it is typically used in every game because it makes more money. People should get use to it.

Western Europe is the strongest defensive nation in Medieval. In Industrial Revolution they get access to Britain which is decent for defence as well.

Persia is the one if you can be arsed to manually fire, just balloon/blimp the place. I would have to try myself to be certain but i got my ass handed to me vs someone that gone that route their camels are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ can die, but those turrets more than make up for it.

No one, well perhaps japan if you can pull it off, Japan is weak though in ground force. You need a lot of irons spawns to make Japan work. I'm sucking a lot because i was homeless for 6 month and couldn't play ;( life ♥♥♥♥♥ you sometimes but do not feel sorry for me, it was partly my own fault. Yes I reckon Japan might be able to hit artillery reliant countries hard.

You need lots of airfields, and then spam sakura blossoms which take no pop count only the number of airfields you have. Then you got to learn how to use them effectively, well select them all in range of targets, hold shift and right click, then remove one from group and them shift right click on new unit, then shift click remove one from group, repeat this very fast and for all targets.
