Light Knights rush
It's common now for a quick rush of 15-20 riders upgraded to knights enroute, not sure of the timing but I've watched a few replays and it's quick enough to take out anyone behind on the upgrade unless they are walled with towers or army (as it should be) but it's sad to see a couple people have their town center just deleted almost every game.

I think it points to another issue in that thematically the light knights should be western europe while the chariots should be east. Same with the squad, there is an empty slot for both where it seems they were pulled from west to fill gaps. East europe needs viking berserkergang or something for heavy infantry, with iconic and underused Hussar being brought down to replace the light knight. As it is now east europe has 4 or 5 different types of cavalry that you never see because knights.

Maybe for now just reduce cavalry damage to asia/europe TC so they are used more as shock troops and for raiding economy instead of sniping

i agree about your second point but imo light knights have been so nerfed already its not really an issue if you scout properly and prepare accordingly. light knights pretty much lose to any other unit en masse for the same timing in a straight head to head fight. (granted youre not a slower player than the enemy)
the light knight timing is roughly 15minute mark and there are numerous strategies that hit earlier than that which would completely disable the light knight rusher

In 1vs1 matches or when you teamup with players who knows how to play the game Light knight aren't really that great, and if the player is a frontline he'll be just fishfood before his horses can turn into Light knights. The only issue I have with light knights it is, as you said, on how easy it is to annihilate players with average skill when you go for them fast enough.

It is by far the best tactic to erase multiple random players with average skill fast (in OPEN MAPS), If you go for a mix of archers and lancers you can beat them if they try to rush you, but you can't really defend everybody from them or destroy your enemies as fast as them, so in team battles with random players they tend to be overpower don't they? Because of their move speed and the speed they can destroy an iron2 city.
I just wish they were stronger vs units but weaker against buildings. That would increase their raid potential, but decrease their potential to score multiple player kills at early medieval.

They are the reason for me to not play in team games btw, in FFA I don't need to defend everybody and I'm not forced to use the same tactic :steamhappy:

As someone that has versed and lately used a lot of light knight rush, it is heavily overrated.
The quickest I could get 15 light knights was 16 minutes, you could prob do it in 15 but anything less than that I highly doubt. It will ONLY work for people in europe/asia and ONLY if their TH is undefended and in a open space where all your knights can surround it.

I had matches where I managed to kill 3 opponents with 15 knights in less than 20 minutes but I also had matches where I didn't do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with them.

It's a high risk high reward strategy, but far from being OP or broken, just don't wait too long to get to middle ages or build walls around your TH.
