War Selection

War Selection

Singleplayer?
Says it has singleplayer but can I play by myself with AI? I love RTS and this looks very intriguing, though I will never touch multiplayer.

There's single player, you just gotta look for it a bit.

At the moment you can buy and play survival mode. Single player campaign is still in development.

Is there no 'skirmish' mode against AIs? I'd love to try this but I would only enjoy playing sandbox skirmishes against AI, like popular RTS games including Company of Heroes and Command and Conquer.
A basic feature thats always existed in nearly most RTS games and its not in a RTS game? what a bummer. skirmish in most cases is used to get a really good feel for the game, but then yet again if you cant make a decent AI to learn the game with you're already screwd from the start. you arent going to learn ♥♥♥♥ by immediately jumping into multiplayer and getting pubstomped every game, infact it creates quite the toxic circle were everyone will develop the same strategy to win by simply copying the player that pubstomped everyone which is a absolutely terrible, awful, dreadful, multiplayer only, RTS game design to begin with...

learning by doing.. after 2nd match u should know the basics. there are not much units and buildings ingame and if u played other RTS games it takes 10 minutes to know how the game works..

Is a early access game, learning by doing is a awful design altogether for multiplayer only RTS games in general as explained, not only that relies on other RTS games to know how to play. well, that just equals to oof.

The game is in Early access, Singleplayer is a work in progress and will take some time, I always suggest players to look at some community guides before starting the game.

I understand the struggle of not having a skrimish or single player mode.

It sure will be a struggle for the game's survival. xD

design?

i can repeat myself, the game is EARLY access, that means the game is not a finished game.. is it that hard to understand?

u are allowed to test the early stages of this game and give some feedback. but come on, if u are unable to test things out by yourself in a eary access game than the problem is on your end, because mosts players can play the game without SP too..

so maybe look for games without a big early access information on shoppage if learning by doing is to hard for you ^^

no it's just an issue on your end, most players play this game without SP..
Personally, I prefer singleplayer and co-op games. I do agree with some of the previous poster's points but would never outright attack a game and/or studio for their choices like that.

I believe I set to follow War Selection because the concept seems rather intriguing, but not something I will play without a singleplayer aspect.

I enjoy watching games flourish in Early Access sometimes. I've been playing Bannerlord since release and you'd be surprised the amount of people not able to tell the difference between Early Access and a full release.

Thanks for your reply. :)
Hey, id like to see where it goes too.
thats hard for me and its hard for others but a RTS game isnt a RTS titled game without Skirmish, that is the basic function you can see in any other RTS games.

i played alot RTS games (Command and Conquer, Age of Empires, and and and) there is many more and all of these got the function finished (AI Skirmish), sure the Campaign can wait but not the skirmish function.

in any case the game will not been finished after all we need to wait.

so my question is why the developer isnt working on Skirmish ?

my answer is that i do make pressure on this point because i only see in any updates the developer leaked out are new factions, if you make more new factions you make more work on developing skirmish ai because you need new ai for the faction.

and the hard part is you need to script all these faction ai's like how they meant to be played so the ai knows the strength of the nation he playes against us.

so the developer done something we all can see it yes, but the work on that project will cost more time because of developing something that an RTS Title didnt need in first place only in future updates.

i hope the skirmish function will be there soon i waited a long long long time for it !

I agree that all RTS games should have a vs. bots Skirmish mode. In my opinion, having skirmish is what really drives an RTS while having multiplayer and a campaign are just icing on the cake.

As Moonlight has said, we've both played dozens of RTS games. Without repeating their point, I will say that my most-played RTS is easily Company of Heroes 2 but I have rarely played the campaign on any RTS, nor have I ever used it to play against another human (maybe with another human). Command and Conquer is my most played franchise, having played every single game, but still never touching most of the campaigns.

Long story short, having skirmish against bots increases longevity in an RTS game.

I agree with most of what people say on here the bottom line is that it sucks there is no GOOD single player aspect to this game to jump right into multiplayer as your only early access makes it hard for alot of people to get a grasp on the game let alone have fun with it i do see that campaign is being added and so is a few other game modes but if all of your comments about the game is about not having single player.....you might wanna get a jump start on that
