Can you customize warbands like blood bowl?

CAN You personalize your warbands armor ie change colors ? Is there a player progression system like Blood Bowl where warband charcters can die and or grow stronger or is it cookie cutter every match ?

In the vanilla game the warbands are fixed, so I imagine they'll stick with that. Lorewise, Shadespire is trapped in a hellish limbo; nobody gets tired or hungry, and even death isn't permanent because they'll wake up somewhere else within the city eventually (might be hours, might be weeks, might be before they died in the first place...).

Contrarily to BB, there's no progression between games, but during each game. So you will always start with the same 6 troops, but you will use cards to upgrade them during each game.
(well there's also cards in tabletop BB but let's keep things simple).

You can also paint your warbands like you want, so I see no reason to not at least have different colours in the video game (if not different skins - that was a missed opportunity in BB2, and it would be cool to have themed warbands in cosmetic DLCs for instance).

Tactical, tight as hell, matches. The game has a ton of replayability due to the sheer amount of player tampering each match can have.

I love the concept i just need a certain level of customization/personalization in my games to make them intersting/hold my interest
