As far as I remember, Carrier Deck focuses more (or almost only) on one mechanic, managing your deck. As far as I remember, you get missions that you need provide planes for and that's it, more or less.
In Aircraft Carrier Survival, managing your deck is also an important part of the game but much smaller compared to other things. In Aircraft Carrier Survival, you need to move your fleet over the map, you need to choose your escort, use their abilities, upgrade your ships, planes and crew, choose the "plane loadout" (how many planes of what type), 'manage' the crew, plan and create the missions and then manage your deck to fullfil the missions.
I personally prefer Aircraft Carrier Survival (about 100 hours) over Carrier Deck (about 20 hours) but as stated in this other thread Aircraft Carrier Survival is in a bad state and it will probably never get fixed.
If Aircraft Carrier Survival is on sale for 5 bucks, you're more interested in World War 2 era than in the modern era and prefer a more complex game, I'd suggest buying Aircraft Carrier Survival.
but it is sure very different to this one. Both can give some fun, buy when its on discount. This one is sadly kinda without new updates. but i at least had my fun out of it :)
