Worth it?

After playing the demo for the new one, it's gotten me back on the Contra train. Would you guys say this ones worth it? Better with a friend too?

Here are the main flaws of the game, It's an extremely bare bones port, There are only two resolution options, 720p or 1080p it's 30fps. You'll likely never get enough people for a full lobby anyway, but the Mutiplayer frequently broke, in my experiences, Co-op wasn't so bad.

This game has loot drops and things of the like so it's gonna require luck to get weapons that are actually good, I pretty much just stuck with the starter weapons and keep upgrading them even though it was obvious I was supposed to get weapons of greater rarity but I never really got any I liked the feel of. Weapons can overheat so it's not the Fire for ever kind of Contra you need to pay attention to that.

That being said look at some gameplay footage, right now you can get it off a key reseller for 4 dollars. I'v also got it off official stores for that price. That price is good. It's not really worth more then 10$ This is a 6/10 game when it's working. it's not awful imo, but this is essentially an Xbox 360 arcade title. that's being sold for way too much at full price.

4 bucks is worth it for curiosity sake. But you could also just emulate Shattered Solider, Neo Contra, Or Contra 4, and those are great games, where this one you should have low expectations, and hopefully find it okay.

The game is trash and an insult to Contra.

Just get the Contra Collection.

It's a good game, but not at full price. Fan boys say gameplay is bad just because it isn't trad Contra but it really isn't all that bad, not perfect but also not bad. Some don't like the loot drops but that was a selling point for me.

Get it cheap and don't expect trad Contra and you might have a decent time with it.

I got it for around $4 during the holiday sale. It's not a "terrible" game but definitely not worth much more than bargain price. It's mindless shooting fun for short bursts, but I probably won't play it after I complete the campaign.

It's good enough for $5-$10 but i absolutely wouldn't pay more than that. It's an okay twin-stick shooter, but with way, WAY too many MMO/looter-shooter mechanics for what it is. Any good weapons or stat upgrades require drops; and the weapon drops are stupidly rare. I went over 25 hours of gameplay before getting a particular weapon (Wire Gun) i wanted to drop. And it takes absurdly long to level up your weapons.

If you could mod the game to give you like 5x xp/money/drops, it would be MUCH more reasonable.

Very much so. This is one of my go to games of all times. On the PS4 version I am God. I am revisiting this game on the Valve Steam Deck and I need someone to rock out with. I've sent you a friend request. Lets go ham on this game. Dont know how much the game is but its worth every penny!!!!!!!

It's on sale now for 90% off; probably won't get a better deal than that from a legit store.
