Local Co-Op multiplayer. you need COINS to play this with 2 players? WTF?

I need your help. I bought this EXCLUSIVELY for the local multiplayer only and when I choose two players with two joysticks, it tells me that I don't have enough coins to play.

What am i doing wrong??

sell some body parts you earned through missions, yes you need coins to play challenge mode but even easy might be hard if you dont have leveled up weapons.
this is no arcade game, you level up characters to gain power, every aspect of the game is highly related to your character progress.
i havent tried coop but from what you are saying its only available in challenge mode that requires from you to bet a coins to start mission? also season pass gives good amount of coins.
