MW2 MP freezes after loading map.

Yesterday i bought, downloaded en installed MW2 through Steam. Singleplayer plays fine, no freeze or hangs, but when i start the multiplayer and try to create a private match, the game loads the map, but then freezes. I can hear the backgroundsounds. I have to do CTRL ALT DEL to control my pc again. Also another problem is that i can't find any other players in the lobby. My Nat is open. My specs: i7 920, 4870X2, 6GB 1600mhz RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate x64. about a year ago i played through alter iw net and i didn't have any issues back then, so i think it's steam-related. Anybody with similar problems and have found a solution?
Any help would be appreciated!

same thing happen to me.. havent played for 2 weeks x(

re install the game, the maps maybe somehow corrupted or go to the games properties and verify the cache
