i rebought this game 2 days ago to find it wouldnt play multiplayer but i see thats fixed now but is it safe? thanks in advance this is my first pc super ready to play haha!

Returning player wondering here too if its safe to play. I heard there is hackers who lock in you to the match and insert viruses to your PC. Can someone who has been playing reply?

I was playing for a while today. A few modded lobbies and a few cheats, but it wasn't too bad after that. Had some good games.

Then my AV picked up a severe threat in the MW2 game folder. Called "bd.dll"

So no it's not safe yet.

Sweet thanks everyone just got my first PC gaming properly I want to play this game more than any but was too nervous to risk the malware. If that's actually been removed from the servers I guess I can play so thanks to all who responded 😁🤙

Oh I didn't see this comment at first so it's not safe? Dang and Activision made them take down ♥♥♥♥ I was so excited to play it it's a shame really

The whole problem with safety is that there are actually no servers that you play on except for the login server.

All games are done via peer to peer means that you connect to the host directly and he can give you some payload that contains malware.

Given the fact that you cannot directly choose who you connect with and trust chances are that you will come across one or two hacked Lobbys per day.

I played like 3 hours today. All seemed ok. No crazy lobbies
