Did the update actually fix the RCE/RAT problem?

The biggest problem by far with the PC version of MW2, and I believe other CoD games that use this engine, is the RCE/RAT problem. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=720566908

The Servers going down and the update that came out last week was to address a separate issue. https://www.dexerto.com/tech/modern-warfare-2-virus-2229607/

The problem that was addressed was unfortunately not specifically the RCE problem. Does anyone know if it was actually fixed? It's great if the worm someone recently created was dealt with, but what about the problem that has been in the game since it launched? Could someone more informed on this possibly, please look into it? I think it's really important we as a community know whether or not the game is finally, actually "safe".

They only patched JoinParty RCE
