FPS Drop since new PC
Hey,

after I build my new PC everytime I start MW2 even in the menu I get lagging game. The FPS drops from 42 in the Menu to 1. And when I try to change graphic settings the games crashes and I need to restart the PC. Can someone help? It's no the graphic-card because I already tested it in my old PC and runs perfect. Is my PC or Windows or graphic driver too new for the game? Pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Dont know what to do.

Have you updated your CPU or GPU drivers? That is generally a good starting point, just make sure when you run the GPU driver updating tool you select custom and check uninstall old drivers. If it is an older computer I suggest even doing a general clean up like uninstalling things. Go to task manager, startup, and disable programs you don't need or has too high of a load on your system (some services you may need so do research on the name of what you see in the list). This advice only applies if you have Windows 10. There is more you can do but you provided little information.

Yeah I already did these things. Partly because it is a pretty new PC all drivers are new. So that is the reason I dont understand. I already had the graphic-card in my old computer and in that system it works pretty good. So why does it not work in the newer one???
My System is:
i7 10700K
16GB Ram
z490 Gaming F ROG Mainboard
KFA2 GTX 1060 6Gb

do you get this low fps when you play and on all maps? and is it all the time, or do you get them once in a while?

Lmao if you are having low FPS with those specs you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ something up while installing your parts/drivers. Does it occur on other games?

No this also happens to me on a system I played the game with a few years ago. It just fails these days for some reason and I've also been confused about it. My drivers and parts are all fine, every other games functions fine.

No I get this all the time. from the beginning in menu and even in game there are weird graphic glitches. In menu it is on 42 FPS and every 15 sec it drops to 1 and the screen freeze for that time just a sec. The mouse freezes and the fog of the menu-video freezes.

Everything else is fine. I play Arma 3 and Battlefield Bad Company and these are all fine while playing. It is just COD MW2.

What u mean by these days. Does it getting better? Or is it not playable anymore? Pretty sad that getting a better system turns out not playing anymore good games from the past.

And everytime I try to change graphic settings the game crashes. Next time I start the game the settings are right but seems to be that there is a big problem. Tried to reinstall a few times. tried to repair the game with steam. Nothing works.
Anything to do with NAT Konfig?

you can edit your config file, so the settings wont constantly change, then set it on read-only

I have almost the exact same problem as you. I start the game and it's in like 1024x640 or something resolution. Then if I try and change graphics, or click play to join a lobby, it just crashes out of the game. It's been like this for almost 2 years.

Thats pretty bad. For the very reason that it worked on my old system all the time. and that was in pretty bad conditions. I was kind of hoping that there is a solution for my problem and I just need to fix something.

Dont know if that has something to do with my problems but the first time I installed mw2 out of steam on my new system, I got I fail message and a quote that I need to install I guess it was .net Framework 3.5 or something. I canceled that and the game starts anyway. but like I said with these crashes and drops. So something to do with the netFramework Version? I mean I have 4.8 installed by Windows

Well I never got the netFramework error and still got the crash :/ idk, I'll probably have a look online. Also tried the campaign install and it still has the same crashes.
