My NAT type is: Strict, nad too many time to find player ( not join ) - and migration error.
TCP: 27014-27050
UDP: 1500, 3005, 3101, 3478-3480, 27000-27030, 28960
As well make sure UPnP setting is 'On' in the router Settings.
As well make sure the firewall on your pc allows for those ports to send and receive data. After you are done with that, the game should say your NAT-TYPE is OPEN.
You need to setup port forwarding which can be done easily by following the instructions given here:
https://portforward.com/help/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2/
this walks you through setting up for your specific hardware which is handy
Only if their NAT isn't opened correctly
He said 'FIND' and 'not join' - he has issues finding players.
Do you really think your 'instructions' will resolve that? (it's practically repetition of the comment above it)
To add to that, the website you linked does not provide the specific router instructions for free and the part about setting a static IP is incorrect (it says to set a static dns instead and leave ipv4 address to auto..) so how will port forwarding work?
Did you miss that when performing your superior reading? lmao
So for one the website does not charge for instructions. It's run by ads. when you click your modem/router the ad that pops up, there is a option to close it at the bottom then you choose your model and go from there.
Two I clearly stated in my instructions NAT type helps with MATCHMAKING and joining friends. Matchmaking is where the systems helps you JOIN a lobby with other players wether your joining a random lobby or with a friend. This includes finding a match with MATCHMAKING as I have already refered to but you somehow think your calling me out on something.......
If you have a strict NAT type then you can or may have issues connecting to some others or specific lobbies depending on the host. Following the instructions I gave will allow you to setup port forwarding which does indeed fix this issue.
For port forwarding to work, the device you want ports forwarded on needs to have a static local IP for your router to designate those ports to be opened for. when you setup the port forwarding there you set a static IP for the port forwarding to work on. The instructions actually are %100 correct on how to setup a static IP. CAN you read step 9?
The screen refered to shows his IP setup to be obtained automatically
https://portforward.com/networking/static-ip-windows-10.htm
"Step 9:
You should now see a screen similar to the one you see above. Before making any changes you should write down all the settings you see in this window. This is in case something goes wrong you can simply put it back the way it was. Like the image above you should see a dot in the circle next to Obtain an IP address automatically. If not, then you are already setup for a static IP address. Simply close this window because you are done.
If your screen looks like the one above then you need to choose a static IP address to use for this computer. First, click the circle next to Use the following IP address:. Then enter a new IP address in the box labeled IP address. This address needs to be similar to the router's IP address. Just make sure the last number is different. For example if your router's IP address is 192.168.1.1 then maybe you choose 192.168.1.10 This new IP address should end between the number 1 and 254. It should not be the same as your router's IP address. Every device on your network needs to have it's own IP address or neither device will be able to connect to the Internet."
You make the smart comment about superior reading.............. and you REALLY missed this?
LMAO!
And I have no idea??
LMAO!!!
look in the mirror buddy!
There are many factors to consider (but not limited to):
1a) How many matches are in progress
1b) How many player slots are available in the ongoing matches
2a) Your network ping to the closest server
2b) Your network ping to the host
3a) Your router firewall configuration
3b) Your router NAT / UPnP / Forwarding settings
3c) Your operationg system firewall settings
4) NAT type - if your nat is open, it's possible to skip the whole search process and the matchmaking system may create a lobby with you as host (however, the game can give false positives with nat and as a result no one can connect to you)
If your connection is very good and your ping is low to several countries then you will find matches faster (regardless of your NAT type).
I have tested this myself with an open connection (not behind an NAT device) and also on VPN where ports were closed and found a minimal difference between searching for lobbies. I have also had 50+ players on my list test this for me.
If you need any help, feel free to add me
