Start Menu Freeze
When I open MW2 Multiplayer it goes to the play menu and freezes when i alt+tab to go to the task manager it goes to a black screen. I've tried deleting mp_playlist_dlc2.ff, re-installing vcredist_x86 and DXsetup and restarting my computer. Sometimes this works but when I close the game and come back to the game later on it just freezes up again..

I'm not sure how to help sorry. It freezes for a few seconds when I start the game, but after those few seconds it's fine.

Verify the game via steam

No other overlay would cause this because the ID tech engine uses the least amount resources. We get it you wanna "help people" but talking out of your ass isn't helping.

Find configmp.cfg file. Right click - Options - see that "Read Only" is Unchecked.

What specs do you have? OS, CPU, Gpu, SSD or HDD. How much free space on systemdisc??
When it works somethimes and NOT on next startup, there is some files that dont get saved when you shut down the computer!! Did you restart after both VCredist and again after DirectX??

I've had this issue before too, and the specs I had was not a problem, for some reason it simply vanished not too long ago, not sure what caused it though. Maybe close unecessary processes in the background when playing?

I restart my computer after I use VCredist and DirectX that's what it usualy works until I shut the application down.
