Three (Edit: Two) inaccessible ROMs.
Now, I am unsure if these ROMs are available in other editions, since they are all the European releases and I am playing with a US version of the game, but when I extracted the data from the .bin to get the ROMs, I noticed that there were three ROMs in the files that are not available to me in game. Two are pretty obvious as to what they were, the GameBoy "Probotector" (European Contra), and the NES "Probotector II" (European Super Contra) - oddly the NES Probotector 1 (European Contra) was not in the list. However, on the Genesis side, there was Probotector - this is normal, it's actually accessIble... and the "probotector_hacked_WW". That one looks like the same game at first glance, but there is a different checksum so there's something different in the data somewhere. No idea what is different in that game, or why it's a separate ROM.

Just thought it was interesting to see extra data in the game, that there's versions of the games we HAVE the data for, but can't access in-game.

Originally Probotector games run at 50hz, like all European titles. This collection gives an option to play the modified versions at 60hz (the speed of the american and japanese versions).
And thats why they have separate save states.

Oh! That explains the Probotector_hacked_ww then. It's the hacked "world wide" version to run at "NTSC", 60hz speeds. So only the two are inaccessible, GameBoy and NES Probotector ROMs. And even then, NES Probotector 1 is missing entirely.

By the way, since you managed to extracted the roms from here, can you please try to run super contra from this collection on a different emulator and tell me, does it have voice lines in the intro? I just wonder, were they removed from the rom, or emulator in this collection just doesn't produce them.

The method I used only extracts the console ROMs, not the arcade ROMs. Sorry. Weird that the voices are missing. Could be a rights issue.
