Static in left ear audio.
Picked this up last night and immediately upon playing the first sound there was nothing but static in the left ear and the right audio was faint. I started up the JP Contra edition and the audio didn't improve. I restarted the entire game and tried the NA Contra but there were no changes in the audio there either. With no sound options anywhere I gave up and got a refund.

However the 4 minutes I did play the NA version brought back exactly what I was seeking. The perverse enjoyment of dying repeatedly to bullets and enemies that i knew I could dodge but just didn't do it right. I really want to play these games again. Please Konami work with me here and get this issue flushed out and I will gladly buy it again.

You might want to lower the audio sampling rate at the sound properties of your playback device before starting the game.

Bumpin cause I'm glad I'm not the only one with this exact issue. Gonna try lowering audio sampling rate, but I was terrified it was my headphones! Thanks

EDIT: Okay yeah, lowering the audio sampling rate fixed the problem for me! Thanks again!

https://prnt.sc/17eumcb got to sounds, go to the playback section and go to whatever is your default audio device's properties and in the advanced section will be the option to change sampling rate.
