I think OP means the NES Contra counterpart. Screenshots in the store page show that "Probotector" in this collection is the one on Mega Drive, based on Hard Corps.

There is no NES Contra counterpart. At least according to what's in the bonus eBook. The only one that was different was the Japan version and that just added some dialogue, pre-stage screens and minor tweaks.

What does that even mean? NES Contra did get a Probotector release in PAL regions.

First I just foolishly assumed that since it's not a maingame that such stuff wouldn't thus be included because it's a Contra pack afterall.

However I believe this version actually does include Probotector since the storepage seems to list the following when I looked at it more thoroughly.

Alone or with a friend, Contra provides hours of nail biting action. In a pinch; make sure you know the code!
