Extract the contents of the zip file to Castlevania Anniversary Collection\windata and overwrite if asked.

So I've patched and updated the hacks in this collection:

I've replaced the rom files included in the Anniversary Collection with more compatible roms for the included patches.
Simon's Quest took the most time, because the English Re-translation(+Map) required some tinkering and modification before it worked in the in-game emulator. It was related to the MMC version. I had to select MMC1 on the vending machine (https://bisqwit.iki.fi/cv2fin/).
I also had to deselect the option for stairs features because otherwise it would freeze the game when combined with Improved Controls.

This is for personal purposes, because I wanted my own ultimate edition of the Castlevania collection (especially Simon's Quest) on the go and I think I'm done.

I've also made a seperate version for those who want the Gameboy Color versions of Castlevania: The Adventure and Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge
WARNING
I can't seem to find a way to turn off konami's color filter, so you can't enjoy them in full glory. If someone knows how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've added the GBC versions, but check the warning in the post. There is no real benefit to playing these versions if you wanted the colors.
However, I tested it only to see if it would run, but it does seem like Belmont's Revenge runs smoother, so that's a positive.

Sadly no, that's because the romhack uses the Japanese version which is superior. If you want to get the achievements you need the American version. I could do another compilation with the rom originally from this collection and different romhacks, which should let you get the achievements.

The only ROM that doesn't work with achievements is Castlevania 3, because it's a translated Japanese ROM. The rest works fine.

Is there a way to get this working on the Steamdeck? I tried copying the files over, but the game just starts with a black screen after booting it up. If I switch to Proton Experimental, I get an error message after booting.

It works fine on my Steam Deck. I'm using the proton build recommended by Valve. Try deleting proton files.

Which Proton version are you using? I've tried 7, 8, and Experimental, and I still just get a black screen.
