There is one coffin more on the ghost ship in Castlevania 3 and the devil actual spits fire instant of only jumping around. Plus the doppelganger room is different and more challenging. But that only goes for Castlevania 3.
Castlevania 1 and 2 are more balanced in the japanese version.
Not sure if correct, but I believe in the famicom version of Castlevania 2, there is saving instead of a password system.
You are right, Castlevania 2 came out for the famicon disc system. You can save.
Wording is unclear whether this means for some, or all, of the games, and if the former then which.
They do the same thing for the arcade collection & I might actually buy that, too.
