Xbox One controller not working

do i have to use a 360 controller to play this game? for some reason only my keyboard works even though my controller is on and working.

Basically no options to bind buttons of any kind.

As lazy a port job as they could get away with.

PS4 Controller - LT, X to select and deselect
Keyboard - 1, Z and X to Select and deselect
Nintendo Switch Controller - ZL, A and B to select and deselect (?)
Xbox One Controller - LT, A and B to select and deselect

You could always use a mapping software. Not ideal but at least you could play the way you want to.
