slowdown on ALL games.
everything was playing slow, it was as if all the games were going through some sort of time-stretch process.

i couldn't solve it.

i searched 'Castlevania Anniversary Collection playing slow', for instance on the 'net, no results came up.

i WAS playing this in:

windows 10 (if that's any help).

i got sick of it in the end, i didn't want to keep it in that state :(

Turn on a framerate OSD.

This game behaves weird in some circumstances where it will not properly run at fullspeed. A framerate graph will show it dropping under 60.

In Windows 7, if you disable Aero the game instantly drops the framerate under 60FPS for example.

And here I went to play tonight and I was getting it constantly speeding up. It would occasionally speed up for a second, then go back to normal at random for a bit until just staying sped up.

Having the slowdown problem with Castlevania IV and the Game Boy games. If I disable audio they play at normal speed, only thing I've found that "fixes" it.

That doesn't sound like a great solution though to fix odd speed issues.

oh well, as i don't own this game anymore, i can't really be too upset.

maybe i shouldn't say this, but do the (ahem!) ROM's suffer the same issues?

i would but my bottom dollar that they don't ;)

of course, these are essentially just the rom's anyway, with a new coat of paint?

hmm, it is a solution, but there must be a better one out there.

actually, i did get castlevania IV to run properly once.

i went into the 'properties' tab in the exe and selected 'run in 640 x 480 screen resolution' & 'vista' compatibility mode.

i done something else, went back and done the same thing as before...and it didn't work!

Are you guys SURE that you're not experiencing frame slowdown like the original games have?
JD Sep 10, 2019 @ 1:57pm
Mine was going fine until yesterday when the slowdown started.

EDIT: and now is working fine again, i don't understand...

Sounds like they should have just used some of the decent emulators out there instead of throwing together a shoddy one themselves.

Set the prority to High and processor affinty for this game to only one CPU via Task Manager.

lol I was just browsing through topics to find a solution to this problem. And just now someone wrote about it. And It really actually works for me with Anniversary and Advance collection. Thank you so much!

This problem is not globally experienced enough to get the developer's attention for making a patch. This means it affects only a handful of players around the world. I did take solutions from this thread to fix mine, but it appears that none of them worked for me. However, I finally found my own solution and I am going to share it with you.

My cause of the problem came from graphics software, i.e. AMD Software: PRO Edition, where I set the Graphics Profile to "Performance" and turned on any boosts which I thought might improve the performance, e.g., Radeon Anti-Lag, Radeon Image Sharpening, Radeon Enhanced Sync. I finally discovered that these boosts do not work with this game; on the contrary, they caused the adverse slow effect you are experiencing. Turn them off and set your Graphics Profile to Default, at least for this game, and every title in the game will run smoothly as it should.

THANK YOU! I feel like a bunch of people bought the game and gave it a positive review without even starting it up. These games are broken for me. They run at half-speed even though my PC is a beast. There's no performance settings for the game either. I bet the slowdown has to do with them cramming in multiple windows into one screen. Maybe I should just get my money back...

Quick Update: The game does run correctly on a Steamdeck so it's gotta be a PC configuration issue.

Running on Windows 11.I also had slow down on all the games but wasn't really sure till i played Super Castlevania 4 then I really noticed the slow down.. anyway I also am on a laptop and i had to open the windows settings and add the exe to use my 3d chip. All the games ran fine after... if your system has a 2 gfx chip setup then be sure that you using the 3d acceleration chip
