game won't start

I don't know what is the problem the game won't start both on SP and MP, the game not responding and i need to exit with task manager. I began to regret that I bought this game... any help will be appreciate

mine doesnt start too it says steam cloud has not find my files or something then when i start mw2 both sp and mp it shows steam must be online or something, please help.

what I've started doing is:
I try to run the game (I can hear the infinityward music bit playing) and the screen is blank) and the application freezes. I open the task manager and right-click the game application and click 'go to process' and kill the game process. I then start the game again and it works! Annoying but hey, it works.

Found solution: Browse Local Files via the Local Files tab in Properties of the game. Right-click on the exe file, either iw4sp or iw4mp, and click Troubleshoot Compatiability. Run through the steps. It shouldn't start because it isn't loading via Steam, but it will set the game to Windows 7 mode. Open Steam, load game. It starts for me now... However, I then had a mouse issue that could be resolved with Alt-Tab out of the game and then Alt-Tab back into the game. If not, you can't look around with your mouse. Hope this helps!

I was having the same problem and it was not launching, but I fixed it through changing the language. I had it on Dutch language, I went into game properties-language-changed to English-you will then see the main game updating and then you will be able to launch both for some reason. If it is not working for you, try switching to another language and then going back to English to force this update and it may work.

My game won't start either. It was working yesterday! It freezes before the Infinity Ward animation but plays the audio from it. I have to open a virtual desktop, then launch task manager to force quit the application.

I turned off my VPN and it worked.

Edit: It launched once, and then went back to the same BS as before.

you need to install .NET 3.5 & DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) and it will work no problem tested windows 10 and 11

You can enable .NET Framework 3.5, which includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0, by:
Typing "Windows Features" on your keyboard and pressing Enter
Selecting the .NET Framework 3.5 check box
Selecting OK
Rebooting your computer if prompted

just search for DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) get it from Microsoft
