ERROR Couldn't load image 'specialty_new_nonenglish'

change the language to English on my game and now I get ERROR Couldn't load image 'specialty_new_nonenglish'

check both and says they are well, i delete the game and re-installed and change the language and the same goes, i was researching and it is a common error in windows and on any operating system, I think there is no solution.

I want to clarify that the game works when i return to the Spanish language, but I want it in English, thanks...

The does work in English, though there are problems with this game when you try to switch the language out.

Why is it in Spanish if you speak English?

because I speak Spanish but the Spanish of America, i dont like how it sounds European Spanish in movies or games.

steam doesnt have American spanish translation...

Finally worked, what I did was delete the game and reinstall it WHITOUT PLAYING IT immediately change the language whait for update and Voilá!!! worked perfectly...

Ok for those who still couldnt fix the problem what I did and fix it: go to your hard disk:Programfiles-or whenever you installed your steam library-\common\Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 (Singleplayer)\main\ folder

then what you do is to search for the file called: localized_english_iw00.iwd

what you do with that file is to RENAME it to localized_english_iw00.iwd.zip and click yes to any window poping (you need to have winrar already installed for this to work, if you dont have it its free google it and download&install it)

now after renaming it it will look like a rar file.. just double click it

A rar window will pop up and 2 folders will appear inside of it one of them is called "images" open it

inside it you will find a file called specialty_new_bg.iwi now copy that file by dropping it in your desktop (make sure the file still exists in the rar window you took it from)

then on the file that is on your desktop right click on it and RENAME it to specialty_new_nonenglish.iwi (see what I did this was the file missing :D)

what you need to do now is inserting the newly named specialty_new_nonenglish.iwi that sits on your desktop and transfer it inside the image folder of the localized_english_iw00.iwd.zip

now close the rar window and rename the localized_english_iw00.iwd.zip file back to localized_english_iw00.iwd as it was before

Now the game should play.. Ejoy! :D

In my case it poped a new error "could not laod image waypoint_target_neutral.iwi

Same solution you go again and rename the file localized_english_iw00.iwd to localized_english_iw00.iwd.zip

Open the "image" folder inside it

inside the "image" folder you will find a file called waypoint_targetneutral.iwi copy it to your desktop (whime making sure it still exist on the images folder and didnt got cut/transfered)

rename the waypoint_targetneutral.iwi file which sits on your desktop to waypoint_target_neutral.iwi and transfere it to the image folder.

close the rar window and rename the localized_english_iw00.iwd.zip file to localized_english_iw00.iwd again now you can play the game :) Enjoy!

P.S for me there was no other problem but in case you fail to load an other image do the same thing search for a similar name iwi image file inside the localized iwd file copy it and name it appropriately and probably you should be good to go :)

OK, the game now its working, but, any text comes out with weird symbols, menu and gameplay.
