Report a translation problem
If you can't even get into the game and set something before it crashes: You could try just direct editing the config file and setting the video res manually. See if that lets you go from there. I know once the game launches and you've started playing, a lot of settings changes will cause the game to hang. It's best to edit everything from the main menu before you ever start any gameplay.
Path to config files should look something like this:
<path-to-game>\players\config.cfg
Path-to-game is dependent on how you have your Steam installation set up, but mine looks like:
c:\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty...
How do I find this "path to game" and where could I find the steam folder
My path looks like this, but yours will be slightly different most likely..
G:\steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2\players then config.cfg is a text file in that folder.

Close to the end of that text file (mine's on line 244) is a line that reads:
seta r_mode "3840x2160"
That's where you want to pick something you like.
Right-click the file and you should see an "Open with..." option.
