Is there any way to change the language?

I recently received this game as a gift from a friend. There's only one problem, the game is in German! I navigated through the menu the best I could, but couldn't find any way to change the language. Does anyone know how I can change the language to english?

when you install the game it should ask for the language

Some versions is One language only, like the German and Russian versions.
Only the international (or what ever it's called) have all language options.

In options; language tab, if there is no other language options... Well then there is only one.

To clarify, it's not in the in-game options. You need to right click the game in your library > Properties > Languages tab and choose the language from the dropdown menu here: https://imgur.com/a/yhbCN4j

As said, if there's only one in the list, then you can't change it.

To clarify, it's not in the in-game options. You need to right click the game in your library > Properties > Languages tab and choose the language from the dropdown menu here: https://imgur.com/a/yhbCN4j

As said, if there's only one in the list, then you can't change it.

In the options for the base game, there isn't even a tab for language, but there is one in the multiplayer app that includes English, so I guess I can only play the multiplayer? Kind of dissapointing, but at least I can actually use the game. Thanks for the help!

Try to change the language in MP!!! It could be that's the solution for both SP and MP.
Almost the hole game need to be downloaded again with new audio files.

I redownloaded the game (MP) with English as the language, but with no luck, the game's still in German. I guess it is just locked into the language, like you said earlier. Maybe there's something in the files I could change?

I took a look in the game files, as well as around the net, and it seems like if I had the English localization files and used them as a replacement for the German ones, then I may be able to play the game in English. The only problem is that I can't find the English files anywhere, and where I do find them, the download links and websites are too outdated to be usable.

Really? If you would, that would be nice. It seems like all I need is the "localized_english_iw0x.iwd" (the "x" would be replaced with a number from 0-8) files from 0-8, and the folder labeled "english" under the "zone" folder. To get to each, you need to follow this path:
Local Disk (C:) -> Program Files (x86) -> Steam -> steamapps -> common -> Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
To get the localized English files, just go into the "main" folder.

Hey there, I just recently extracted all of the localized_english_iw0_iwd files and can give them to you, however I don't know how I'll be able to give them to you. If you find any way to have me give you the files through any website and or program please let me know.

iwd files only contains voices, for proper english you need all files.

i pirated the english version of the game and replaced the miles, main and zone folders
(C): > Program Files (86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

I tried this, but after loading the intro when starting a new game, CoD crashes. Any idea?
What I did in addition to replacing the files is setting the resolution in the config.cfg to my native screen resolution.
