Not a 1080 haha maybe a 1070 or 1070 TI depending on the resolution you play on.
I'm not sure of your cause exactly, but it definitely is not your hardware, idiots who would suggest that genuinely shouldn't bother trying to troubleshoot. With your specs you can gen run it at 4K at about 200FPS.
https://youtu.be/lGpJ6e9qXQc as seen here this person has a worse CPU, which is slower than the 1500x and only has 2 cores and 4 threads VS the 1500x's 4 cores and 8 threads. But this game isn't highly CPU bound anyway, meaning the GPU is the only thing that matters.

Modification for this game it should run loads better. Unless you already have it, there is bound to be some tweaks you can do to ensure reliable consistent performance. I'll have a gander about and see if I can get you a concrete fix.
