But this is completely unacceptable. What the ♥♥♥♥ Microsoft?
You want better pathfinding and formations, AoEII and AoEIII is available to play. This game is basically just a throw back to those who played this game back in the day or grew up playing this game.
I got this game because I like this time in history. I've played AOEII DE to death already and I hate AOEIII with a passion especially more now that my mods I made don't work on the DE version.
I wish they'd make AOM2 which would be AOEII with myth/deities.
That's all. Units blocked with each other is not acceptable today also for a remastered.
"Play something newer then" durr durr GO PLAY SOMETHING ELSE. I love it when morons like you have nothing better to say. I can imagine you running a company. Rather than changing for the better, you'd just fire people until nobody would want to work for you. Idiot.
Maybe they will make that, never know. I'm sure they'll probably come out with AoM: DE soon enough.
AoE: DE was just a blast from the past for a huge amount of people. To most, the original AoE was what got a lot of us into RTS games to begin with. I, for one, think they did a good job on the upgrade from original to DE. Yes I do agree they could have seriously overhauled quite a number of things, such as the pathfinding... but what can ya do? I love the pathfinding AoEII and III have. The formations they allow you to do give me a kind of peace of mind because I like being organized, lol... and when you send a group of 10 to 20 units together in AoE: DE, it's like playing Tetris and 20 pieces have just dropped and none of them can connect, so you're like... well crap! But you just work around it. The AI goes through this too. There are so many times I killed off the enemy's army, which was twice as large as mine, if not bigger... because of these ridiculous problems. You learn to work around them. That was the strategy in 1997, you really used the environment + the poor pathfinding to your advantage, lol. So going back into this, that's your mentality.
To be honest one of the latest patches kind of made unit pathfinding worse because for some reason units started to become stuck inside each other.
Absolutely rage-inducing
