Age of, Vampires?
When I was a kid I watched a guy play a game (Obviously one in this series) and I remembered him calling it 'Age of Vampires'. Clearly I misheard the name of the game, but I recall his game being sort of, science fiction themed, whereas the games in this series are always based on ancient civilizations. Is anyone aware of an old DLC or alternate version of these games based on science fiction?

Rise of Nations?
Empire Earth?

There is an Age of Myhology, too, but it isn't Sci-Fi.

This game uses the same engine:

There's also Rise of Legends, which was made by Big Huge Games, the developers of Rise of Nations and has a fantasy/steampunk setting.

This one's not available on Steam unfortunately, I really loved that game...

Or, you could just get Age of Vampires:

Wow, wasn't expecting Age of Vampires to actually exist...

Uhg, these are all great guesses, but I can't tell.. They all look so similar and I saw this game 15-20 years ago..

Thanks for the help though. I really appreciate it.
Wish I could tell you more about the game, but I just remember a black map with really thick fog of war, and I think a red army vs, a nuclear green base maybe? It's been so long..

There are some cheat codes in AoE that spawn a laser-shooting spaceman and a rocket-launching supercar.

What sci-fi things do you remember from what you saw?

Almost nothing, sorry... I imagine there being tanks and lasers, but that's basically a guess..

Google search found a mod for AoE2 titled "Age of Vampires", so maybe he had that installed? If not, maybe it was Total Annihilation: Kingdoms? Different series, but I remember that one having some vampires, gargoyles, and such. Or maybe Command and Conquer? That one is more science fiction themed.

The mod Does look close. I'll look into it.
C&C had crossed my mind, but that's too distinct. If it was that I'd have known in an instant. (i think)
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Huh, that, actually looks a Lot closer to what I remember seeing. Wow, thanks! Is the game actually, you know, good?
The CruSpader Aug 20, 2019 @ 3:42pm
People say it's good.
Unlike Age of Empires, you get specific units, tech and buildings if you're soviets or americans. In AoE different civilizations can get the same units and tech.

You said a red army and nukes. This game has the literal red army, and nukes.

I tried it back when I was really young, so I can't remember much, but I enjoyed it a lot, I do remember.

Closest guesses are:

Empire Earth, made by the creator of AOE1
SW Galactic Battlegrounds, runs on the AOE2 engine
Rise of Nations: AOE meets Civilization, also published by MS
Mossman Aug 22, 2019 @ 4:50am
Total Annihilation

Timeframe would help narrow it down some

I already marked an answer. I believe CruSpader was right, it was Red Alert 2. It was released late 2,000, which puts it right around the time I'd like have seen it. It's have been around seven.
