Dude this is with windows 10 for a lot of people that also have the latest update. And I will never trust windows security if they think I will remove my protection to use theirs just to play OAE:DE then they thought wrong. Don't act as if every issue is easy just because others have a easy fix. Hardware and software is like a finger print no system is really the same meaning it can be harder for others. It is good you link to window 10 home for those still using windows 7 though but never assume fixes can be easy for users when it clearly is the devs in this case especially. (seeing no other game has such issues known)

I'm using the built in windows security, as long as you don't pirate games, movies, watch porn from doggy websites or click on doggy adds, that's why there's adblock as a browser extension, you'd be fine with windows security.

In theory you are right but in practice you are wrong. And I freely admit I look at porn like millions others and with all my browser extensions I know nothing gets through but if you think only some extension make you safe then I recommend you start reading into system security and learn some things first. No IT professional will ever recommend you use built in windows.

Personally I removed everything and anything of windows 10 I don't want so windows security cannot even start unless I deep dive the settings again. Once again you seem to fully fail to grasp things. You come her to half help and half act as if its the users fault.

We payed for a functional product and development like this is why people turn to pirating, so its nice that you seem to have near to no standards but I personally do. I want to make sure I am fully protected and not by some sieve with my browser extensions serving as plugs for windows defender. Now if you do not have anything useful to add to this thread to help the fix the problem then I request you not add any of your input anymore.

Well, unfortunately in my country piracy is illegal, ISP’s have blocked most pirating websites, VPN’s do nothing because the police have the right to decrypt all internet data packets going to government data centre’s. As for anti viruses, I worked at 2 different IT technician shops and all the professionals that I worked with say that windows security is better the 3 most popular anti viruses Avast, Norton, McAfee because they are performance hungry, to get all the features you must pay and its usually a subscription service and malware still slips through the cracks.

for the people talking about antivirus... no installed antivirus is actually doing you very much good to begin with, it may block a thing or 2 here and there, but once something gets by your antivirus is compromised and lets everything though from that point on.

if you want good protection you need to learn safe browsing and downloading practices, also use a portable antivirus (installed on a usb flash drive), they run on linux and it scans your pc without the OS running, that is literally the only protection you need.

not to include that installed antiviruses use way to much pc resource and have issues with interfering with games and programs.

avast, norton and mcafee are some of the worst antivirus programs i have seen or used to date LOL, i wouldnt even touch their free versions.

ive used avg free edition for years and never had a single virus/malware or anything and recently went to using portable antiviruses along with safe browsing/downloading practices.
The Mixican Aug 19, 2019 @ 9:07pm
Stop using free anti-virus software eitherway and either pay for a good one aka not Norton avast or mcafee those are the worst ones out there. As MonkehMaster says there are USB driver versions as well if you dont want a software one. Nothing is truly free so think about it how they are making money of of you when they give software for free. Take the free windows 10 home it comes with pre-installed games and collects data on you where it can meaning it isn't free.

I use ESET myself and never have it interfere with any game nor see it ever eat too much resources and I am not saying get it but do your research and learn to browse safe sure but also learn how to protect yourself.

The point though still stands devs screwed up no two ways about it and this problem existed on the windows store launch last year and even users with only windows defender have this issue.
MonkehMaster Aug 19, 2019 @ 9:09pm
you just reminded me to turn off windows defender, the latest update turned it back on.
ShadowWolf712 Aug 19, 2019 @ 9:21pm
Well for Avast, I figured it out. Just had to go into Settings > General > Exceptions and choose the game folder as an exception.

Why the heck I had to do this to get a game made by one of the biggest publishers in the world to run, I dunno, but here we are.
ShadowWolf712 Aug 19, 2019 @ 9:42pm
Did I mention the official support page links you to the wrong guide to whitelist this game in Avast? Cuz they do.

Also have this problem with AVG. Putting it to exceptions didn't work.
Lupawolf152 Aug 20, 2019 @ 2:23am
Also having this issue. The warning comes up after playing for a few minutes. I use AVG and have put the application on the allow list and also (and to be thorough, the Windows Defender list too). Running Windows 10. Only bought the game through Steam today, haven't had any other version of the game on my PC.

You need to allow aoede_s.exe access through the Advanced Threat Defense panel, not the Firewall one as they say in their link.
