But I am sick to death of having to re-buy Microsoft games after their fail on one of their platform and get new life on others.
As an example, I bought the Collectors Edition of AOE3, then I had to re-buy it if I wanted it digitally on my GFWL account; after that shut down I had to re-buy it once again on Steam. Paying 3x for the same damn game.
Same with Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe and many others.
This is a disgusting practice, and needs to stop!
A member of FE had an interview with German gaming magazine regarding AoE 1 DE and the Windows Store. They said that they wanted to release it on Steam but only on condition that Xbox Live will be added as the 3rd Party client. And Steam seemed to refuse that at that time.
Unfortunally my game which i own on the MS Store doesn't appear on this beta app, though rise of nation does. (but in the end it's the same, it uses the MS Store with "another face")
I wonder why this Interview wasn't quoted and translated.
Oh I forgot the name of that magazine.. it's called Gamestar
We should get a free key, but it is Microsoft...
Other then Steam and GOG the life expectancy of these makeshift stores is probably less then 5years...
If anything u boys did the entire community a huge disservice... lucky enough there were too few of you to make M$ think that they can milk a large enough part of the community to make it a profitable move and then pull the plug on the game shortly after release just to force yr hand to buy the next game in the series regardless of how crappy it would be...remember the way they killed the game servers on the MSN zone just in time for Age 3 ?! this is the kind of crap M$ likes to do to its customers if left unchecked...
Guess what there are plenty of people that can't/don't want W10&M$tore shoved down their throats(i'm a linux user ever since Widows Vista(saw quick enough where things are headed and jumped ship-->best judgment call ive ever made in my life)) and would value above all the alternative of having any other OS as an option or at least a tool like Steam's Proton to allow anybody access to playing the game on any PC(meeting the hardware reqs) regardless of their choice of OS and for as long as they wish it for(don't think for an instance W10 isn't likely headed to scrap heap in the near future just like all the other winblows versions before it leaving u with a heap of uncompatible&unsuported games&software)
PS:moral of the story: think before u buy as it sadly affects countless others in ways u failed to realize both now and especially in the future. Some games may as well be considered art by now so don't be one of the arsewipes that tosses lit ciggys around and sets the musseum/library on fire leaving future generations staring at nothing but piles of ash...
Why would you want to buy it there when its coming to Steam at any time now?
Plus this has nothing to do with this topic, as people here already own it on the Windows store but want it on Steam so they don't have to deal with that mess.
Sometimes its fun to make terrible decisions.
