Using the old voice over sounds for all of the units in the game?
It would be nice to have an update to toggle between classic sounds from the old version of Age of Empires and the new sounds for this edition of Age of Empires.. The old voice overs are a defining part of the game. It would have a nostalgia and familiarity effect on people who play this game. In my opinion, the new voice overs aren't that good... kind of cheesy.

Responses might get Microsoft's attention to consider this if other people agree.

Right i writed on microsoft forum too. Old musics and resource gathering sound effects more good than new one. they must add options for this.

Now that the game is on Steam... maybe we can make some mods that allow for actual classic mode sounds and graphics. We'll likely need the same mods for Aoe2 DE, so this could be a nice project to research how to go about doing that. I think most of the old files are included in Aoe DE, so it should be possible to perform a conversion.

100% need Workshop support and an option in game to toggle between classic and new music/sounds.

Original music, graphics, and sound are a must for all modes of the game - especially the campaign.

You can get all of that (original sound and graphics) in a single player custom game. It's under options and you select "Classic" under graphics and it includes the original sounds too. Don't know why it's not available for the campaigns.

I'm aware of it in the one "Classic" mode, but it really needs to be available in all game modes. Like I said, especially in the campaigns. That's what I bought the game for.

I managed to change sound effects and music from original AoE and RoR into AoE:DE!
