Furthermore the VW truck uses Diesel, the Bug and Golf use 100% Gasoline, and the Van uses a gas oil mixture.
While the Van does use a mixture of oil and gas, the engine isn't a 2 stroke.
The 'Van' isn't a VW, its Barkas and it uses a watercooled 2 stroke 3 cylinder engine. Hope that helps.
use the gas vw engine if possible (from the Golf) as it is better all around, but the diesel version is still a small but noticeable improvement over the default two stroke barkas engine.
Your answer was correct.
The van is a Barkas. Using the Wartburg's 2T engine.
Many years ago our family had a 2T Wartburg Tourist and a 2T Barkas pickup. I miss them.
They was good, low cost maintenance cars. :)
No, it's wrong info.
- The VW Beetle engine is air cooled; 4T, it's use pure gasoline.
Its good for tune the Trabant 601U, because its not have water cooling mount. It's a very good starter car. :D
- The VW Golf engine is water cooled; 4T so it's use pure gasoline too.
- The VW Caddy engine is water cooled too and it's using diesel fuel.
The 4T engines tolerate the mixture (if you not pure too many oil, water, diesel or alcohol into it), but its not good to the performance.
