Join the discord server given at the main menu. People can help ease your start if you're not familiar with car related mechanics.

I'm all for teaching people, but the game only has water, alcohol, gas, diesel, and oil at spawn. The car, should only take maximum of 3 of these at a time. At what point are you just doing the thinking for people?

The car will have at max: a fuel tank, coolant tank and an oil well for the engine.

This is a 5:3 ratio. You're telling me, the vehicle that spawns with everything it needs to IMMEDIATELY drive is a roadblock for some people?

Back to the original ask: at what line are you babysitting, versus moderating? Do you feel like the majority (generally at least more than half, no semantics) are having problems that'd be remedied by

A) Any guided material, be it Video or pre-existing forum posts

B) literally just reading

As far as i'm concerned, yes, the game doesn't give you a tutorial, but it's mechanics are so greatly refined that simplicity should preceed the need for one. Everything can be intuited by reading. I feel as though you're only feeding people fish when you spoonfeed them the info, opposed to teaching people how to be able to do it themselves. (Not in this instance, but the majority of interacted posts can be boiled down to "user didn't read cap")

While I do agree a lot of people want to be spoonfed information instead of finding it themselves; there would be none to find if people did not ask to learn in the first place. Lecturer won't repeat themselves unless a student raises their hand and asks. And there wouldn't be answers if people did not ask

Yes, while it may seem astonishing to some; there are a lot of really young players or just people with zero understanding of how cars and engines work out there. Or people just not familiar with video gaming literacy overall, and just need to be told what's obvious to most of us.

It isn't my job as a moderator to handhold, but someone's gotta do it.

[As a side note, a lot of people show a particular glitch where the game's controls have a weird quirk that causes acceleration and deceleration to be pressed simultaneously due to unknown reasons. This causes the engine to rev, but car won't ever move. The fix for this is to go over to Documents/TheLongDrive/ and delete "settings.tldc". It's a relatively common issue that I have to mention it here as well.]
