The Long Drive

Trabant or Beetle engine for the motorcycle?
I've tried both engines and settled with the Trabant engine as the Beetle engine causes physics issues for me as the bike keeps going sideways randomly while driving causing constant crashes.

In my opinion, the tiny amount of extra top speed the beetle engine provides from it's slightly higher rev limit is completely canceled out from the physics issues it causes. It also requires the player to stop more often for oil top ups on top of fuel for which the Trabant only requires the latter as the oil is mixed with the gas.

I've heard of people liking the beetle engine so I might just have the wrong setup which is why I'm asking.

After using both engines several times, it seems to me that the Beetle engine is more beneficial for me in terms of strength/speed.
The Trabant engine doesn't provide as much speed, but it is more stable.
I have come across several instances of the Beetle engine causing physics problems, but it hasn't seemed like too much of a problem.
As for the oil thing, I usually top off the Beetle engine with oil, and then fill the fuel tank with the usual ratio.
If you've had too many problems with physics issues, you should probably just stick with the Trabant engine.

What wheels are you using with the beetle engine?

My Trabant setup uses a Plymouth wheel at the back to increase top speed and a regular car wheel at the front. Could these wheels be causing the issues when I tried the Beetle engine?

I've found that the physics problems are more prevalent when using any other wheels, so I use the stock wheels.

That's what I figured. Despite that i'm going to stick with the setup I have as I like the reduced maintenance and stability the Trabant engine provides.
