The Trabant engine doesn't provide as much speed, but it is more stable.
I have come across several instances of the Beetle engine causing physics problems, but it hasn't seemed like too much of a problem.
As for the oil thing, I usually top off the Beetle engine with oil, and then fill the fuel tank with the usual ratio.
If you've had too many problems with physics issues, you should probably just stick with the Trabant engine.
What wheels are you using with the beetle engine?
My Trabant setup uses a Plymouth wheel at the back to increase top speed and a regular car wheel at the front. Could these wheels be causing the issues when I tried the Beetle engine?
