Still being developed?
I took a long break from the game (due to lack of content),
and it feels like there's even more bugs now.
Don't get me wrong, I was happily surprised about the content added since last play!

I did however notice a 5 months silence in 2023, a short message in september (I think it was) about updates coming before a 3 month silence until now...
So, is the game actually being developed still? Just want to know (no hate)!
Not a member of their discord, because I really don't want to add more channels.

Thanks for FRIENDLY replies.

Genesz came out with a statement earlier in the year that he was going through the game's code when he found the terrain generation code was very messily done- "Spaghetti code" as he called it. He then went on to say that before any future updates he will have to completely rework it. This is a very delicate sequence as any mistakes in the game's code could cause it to crash, along with the fact that Genesz is the only one working on it.

I read that (the September thingy) but nothing more after that and judging by the amount of "abandoned games" on steam, I get slightly nervous because I enjoy this game.

Yeah, I agree. There was some talk going around about how the devs went off to work on another game, but it turned out that the devs of these two games were friends and our dev went to help out with the programming of the other game. If you don't mind giving up your phone number, you might check the Discord for any additional updates.

Other than that, I haven't got any more news, and I doubt that there's much else as well.

I guess we'll just have to wait and hope for the best :P
A terrain update, would surely be a welcome thing though! Would love it if everything would spawn in simultaneously so I can't see the stops along the road across the map (along with the floating rocks) :P

The developers (Mainly Genesz, since he's the only coder) are currently working on re-working and rewriting a rather large chunk of the game, with the present focus being on terrain generation.

Genesz is learning as he code, and progress is somewhat slow. However the game is not abandoned at all.

As for "Poly Roam", yes. A bit of controversy and uproar occured on the day the game was released into early access due to its announcement on TLD's discord server. People immediately assumed it was being made by Genesz himself, and that he'd abandoned TLD for some other game. Which wasn't the case of course, as both games are being developed by two different people.

So to answer you, yes. The game is still being developed, it's just in a rather slow and painful phase at the moment.

Thank you for reply.
And also, your profile page made me motion sick.

Really damn cool that this is the only guy doing the code. I love games where it's basically a single person developing the game. Although it's slow you know it won't be disappointing when it comes out.
