5000 km how exactly.

So the end destination from home is 5000km away. (i´ve heard on a stream it can vary by seed but that streamer has an audionce know for false tips and incorrect backseating pretty often so i can´t verify that) So i was wondering because that same streamer has pretty straight road sometimes it bends just like most do. but my snakes so much. it´s going left right left left etc always changing direction always curving. so i drive offroad most of the time. Which made me wonder... Do i have to drive exactly 5000 kilometers or does the road need to stretch for 5000 kilometers? because if its the latter i would arrive a whole lot faster than most.

You typically end up clocking up about 5300 km or so of millage. The road is laid out along 5000 1 km by 1 km squares. So the amount of snaking does affect your actual distance travelled, but I believe it averages out pretty well.
People tend to make very specific declarations on seeds based on just the first few hundred km, which is all they ever see. But ultimately, they average out very similar.
