The Long Drive

The Long Drive

A question about cargo ships.
The guide by user CaptainManChild mentioned that cargo ships get more rare as you go along. Is this true? I'm 867 km in and I don't notice and I still see a lot.

If true do the suddenly become scarce after say 1000km or do they gradually wane off?

No, they don't. It depends somewhat on your seed of course, but it really is random. You tend to find the longer you play the game, the better you get at spotting them in the distance.
However, the liklihood of finding gas has been tweaked a bit. I would say you have a 100% chance of finding pure diesel, 50% chance of finding pure gas.
I'm finding crates containing random items with 5, 10 litres of gas in are far more frequent and helpful. It's not worth going way offroad for a ship anymore unless you are desperate.
This is nice because ships don't make it too easy anymore, and there are multiple good reasons to go smash all the crates you find.

@ Pete

I thought so. Also I kind of messed up the description. I meant that I didn't notice any difference from the start.

My seed seems to be lucky. I've had them spawn on or near the road about 6 times.

Also I'm using the IFA truck with the camper on the back. I'm using the Plymouth V8 with the bus engine in the back for redundancy. I also have many barrels of gas and diesel with all of the other essentials in the back.

Anyways I can drive easier now knowing that my supply of fuel wont dry up on me and I will defiantly keep an eye out for those crates.
