The Genie lamps seem to spawn a lot on the bridged buildings light posts. These are made to climb so its easy to get up and get them.

You can also climb the book cases in the 'library' room to access the roof crawlspace through a hatch ;)

and if you keep tapping jump hover around the ceiling

If you keep tapping both jump and crouch next to the wall you get launched up. Perfect for getting out of wells.

Not sure how well known this is, but You can reload paint guns with other paint guns; so you can keep the colors you like, and just reload them with paint cans you don't want.
