it keeps stopping!
Hi, i'm a newbie to The Long Ride, and don't know alot about the cars in the game. I know about fuel and coolant and so on. But when i drive in a car, then after five-ish minutes, the car just stops, and show a car battery sign! I've tried to go out of the car, and look after something that looks busted, or something, but i can't! And as far as i know, you don't need to charge the battery. Please help!

does the car come to a complete stop or does it just slowly lose momentum?

Where do we start... the battery light just means the ignition is on but the engine is not...
Also, are you driving a Trabant? Because that car has its own unique fluid requirements...
Does it release a white smoke when stopping?

Even if you keep pressing the gas?

make sure that both the engine and the fuel tank are full of the right liquids. each vehicle uses either gas or diesel in the fuel tank, all (except for 1) engines use oil only. hope this helps

The Trabant (and its two body models) is the one that has the fuel tank under the hood beside its two-stroke engine, and it requires a mixture of around 97% gas and 3% oil to run properly, and it's air cooled.

If it's another car, and it starts smoking, maybe you have a really rusty radiator or you're giving too much beans lol... either way, try coasting as much as possible, so it doesn't overheat as fast and also saves fuel :)

Does your engine have oil in it? How do your temperatures look?

There is a oil filler cap on top of the engine (and a drain underneath).
If you run the engine without oil, it will seize eventually.

Another reason your car might slowly come to a halt is a low quality (very rusty) radiator. A very rusty radiator has terrible cooling ability so your temps will go up very quickly. If this is the case you may need to find a better (shinier) radiator to keep it from overheating.

As a general rule, if the car engine has no separate oil filler cap there is a good chance it is 2-stroke.

Plenty of good suggestions in this thread btw. :)

Where the gas tank is located? I haven't found one. Does the car don't need gas?

It depends, its location is unique for every vehicle. I suggest you spare a few minutes to read this guide (not mine): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2786177111
(Very long I know, but should answer 99% of your questions.)
