Hope those instructions aren't too wordy. I tried to be as specific as possible.
Well, not much else to do beyond this... I once tried making a holding device using a basket and some rods, but then liquids dripping from taps don't fill physlocked containers, neither do hoses (yeah in mp_test you could disable physlock for this but it'd mess with stuff in the trunk lol). Then I had another idea... it's many steps but guaranteed no spill. Here we go...
1) Pick up your container, open it and hold it right below the spout.
2) Hold Q and don't release till you're done! With this you'll be able to look around without moving your hand - and the container.
3) Now look at the tap's handle, then hold E and move your mouse up to open it until the desired flow rate. Release E.
4) Look at your container's cap to check its level while it fills.
5) Repeat #3 moving your mouse down instead.
6) Look at the cap again and press E to close it. Release Q, done!
Aaaaaaaand just now I realized that I could've made that holding device with just rods... D'Oh Moment
