How to change camera to 3rd person view

Very sorry, just got the game but it's freaking me out.

Can someone please tell me how to change the camera to 3rd person view? It says 'C' to change camera but it keeps me in 1st person view. Saw lot of video's that you can change that right?

In a car when i press 'c' it does change to 3rd person, but it's just an empty car driving, don't see myself in the car..

Please help a newb out?

I think you can only do thirdperson in a car, not on foot.

and for the player not being visible in could be that you haven't activated the rendering of the playermodel in the settings, dont exactly know where that is.

Thanks for the tip Zylsa, haven't seen 'rendering of the player, but saw in the player tab you can enable/disable it.

Now i'm looking further, seeing that the F4 Dropcam option is something i saw in youtube movies, but there it seems you can make that full screen and / or make it 3rd person.

Still figuring it out, but again, thanks for the tip..

you have to enable playermodel. back in the days, playermodel wasnt a thing in the beta. now it is
