Handbrake stuck

Whenever I load in my hand brake will not go down. However when I go into any other seat the handbrake automatically goes down any suggestions

I have the same problem, the only time it works is when I use controller and hold up on the D-pad, although it barely works.

Are you playing on Keyboard?
Do you have a controller connected?

Switch off axis inputs on the Steering Wheel tab, they should all be off for keyboard playing.

If you are having difficulty, delete your settings file to reset everything

Can we know which files and where exactly please? I tried those in the Steam folder but nothing changed.

I was having the same problem but I found if you go to Settings-> Steering Wheel tab, scroll to Handbrake and click Assign. After that the handbrake will let me interact with it. I can now drive!

This was driving me crazy, I almost gave up. Thanks to the above commenters for suggesting looking in the Steering Wheel tab!
