And it's not something new,
It's had this for a year and a half at least now
Shame people have avoided purchase because they read this and get mislead :(
Also the store page doesn't mention any kind of controller support either. Personally I don't care I can adapt, just saying it's not communicated by the devs.
Mmm.. cause keyboard's are ideal for driving. Nothing quite like on/off gas and steering. I really hate analog sticks and triggers that let me accurately drive. Just terrible.
I thought you said controllers worked fine and it was super easy and all that...what happened
The software emulates the Microsoft controller (which I personally cannot stand anyway with the offset sticks just my opinion) so if a game has controller support you just use the default profile there are lots of setting that you can alter in the software it's the best emulator that I have used and can be used wireless or with a cable.
Well, a better implementation of controller support, or better yet full support, would literally be making the game more playable. I like the game, and as a MSC vet this game is cake. Yet I still agree that if the Dev has time to spare to work on VR, they should have first sorted the controllers.
You're correct in that many PC games dont have native controller support. However, in a game where the main emphasis is driving, this needs to be not only in the game, but working well enough that people can use it. I see tons of negative comments from people because others don't want to use third part programs to fix a function that should've been in the base game. I also see a lot of people condescending to others because they weren't able to get their controllers working properly.
NEITHER of those issues are on the people playing this game. They are on the Devs. People are passing on this game because they don't want to buy a product they have to fix to use, and that's perfectly reasonable.
And before anyone brings up that the game is still in Early Access, keep in mind that it has been in development since 2019 and they are currently working on features such as VR support, which IMO is an indication that the priorities for this game aren't where they should be. As for what people want to extrapolate from said priorities, that's up to them but to me it says that they're focusing more on what features they think will sell better, *NOT* what actually plays better.
The game is still good, and for people willing to play WASD or troubleshoot/mod your controller to work, it's worth it. But for anyone that is unable or unwilling, it isn't. It's that simple.
