If I sell you a car, and you decide to drive it into a lake for "fun", don't come back crying to me when it's ruined. :)
Wow that feels like such a waste of time for such a dead horse, I hope you're glad now.
When you write stuff like:
Are you aware that games are meant to induce a good feeling while playing? Mindless grinding, being forced to run in circles or lost progress due to glitches isn't fun and if there is a way to patch it out I'll gladly do it so I can focus on the actual "fun" parts of the game.
One last thing:
If you have GTA V you should really try out FiveM. It's another great example of a game that's way more fun with mods (EDIT: and cheats of course) *and* it's multiplayer.
I wouldn't have the mileage I do if I wasn't having fun playing TLD. I understand there are bugs because it's an EA game that is unfinished. It is still playable if you just figure out how to work around some minor things. I don't whine about bugs, i report them so they can be fixed. I managed to amass over 25,000 km and the last 5000 were virtually painless and bug free. How could I do this if it's a bad as some claim ? If you're going to do crazy things and push your luck then you shouldn't complain when your car explodes.
Regarding FiveM, i know about RP mods and that they are set up so players can RP with each-other. These are not, "cheats", they're enhancements to a game that's been around a long time so that more can enjoy it in other ways. Yes it is multiplayer, but its a private server and there are strict rules, so that players cannot be taken advantage of and spoil others game play or "RP". All multiplayer game servers have rules for the same reason.
If you cheat on a "public" server in GTA, or any game, you will get banned.
There's still a difference between modding and cheating. That should be obvious.
I play games modded as well, but i'm not going to ruin someone else doing it and i'll give the game a chance and have the most fun with it I can before doing mods. It just makes sense.
And me using noclip to get unstuck from weird terrain automatically ruins everyone else's experience of the game? I was not aware that TLD is a competitive single-realm game.
TLD is single player, so no, your not effecting anyone. Like I said, no ones stopping u. I’m pretty sure there is no clip and spawning mods already. If you’re bored already have at it, but I’d still play the game out when it’s done.
Also “weird terrain” is very rare and can usually be avoided. There’s also auto save and if u don’t save in an EA game your asking for it. I’ve fallen off the map a few times, no biggie, it was funny. I also got wedged under a rock, but managed to get out stripping my car down and pushing. That was fun for me.
There is a multi player mode as well tho, and when it’s fixed, if you’re trolling people by killing them, spawning cars on them or whatever, I don’t think they’d like it. Some might, some might not.
Like I’m saying, do what u like as long as it doesn’t wreck someone who doesn’t want to be wrecked lol. I’m sure those mods will be around anyway, just like they are in summer car, which does have many of the same pitfalls as TLD.
To me u can still go ham and destroy your car or cover it with arms and legs. You can also be a grinder and drive and look for things. Mods or not. I have grind saves for doing the long drive, but I also just start a new game if I just want to cause mayhem. Not even impossible to do both at once tbh.
That said, the statement you've just made is pretty silly. There are literally thousands of people playing the game any enjoying it, especially with its recent uptick in popularity on platforms such as Youtube and Twitch.
It's the same as going to school and the teacher telling you not to cheat. Your free to try, but then don't blame them when you come out dumb and fail at life lol.
If you cheat in school, you'll either get punished or negatively impact the percieved performance of the rest of the class (in case you manage not to get caught and raise the median).
This thread is not implying that everyone will only cheat to troll. Quite the opposite (at least in my case) it's about circumventing bugs and glitches.
And last but not least, why should the developer have any saying in the way I play the game I paid for? Games are GAMES, not fascist regimes where the developer can force the way the game is played onto the players.
Let me guess, you also think leeeeeroooooying should be illegal because the devs intended that raids are played with strategy.
