Won't run on Windows 10

Has anyone had any success running Wolfenstein 2009 on WIn 10? it worked for me on my old laptop which i think was windows 8, but its not running now. Multiplayer launches, but not singleplayer.

Well, changing the config file to run it in a window worked.

It runs OK for me, fullscreen without ini tweaks but it's not too surprising for it to have trouble on modern systens. You don't have two monitors by any chance do you? When I had two, I had to disable one of them for fullscreen IIRC.

No, just one monitor. Luckily for me whatever it was, running it in a borderless fullscreen window works.

Multiplayer is OpenGL which should run pretty much any Windows version while single player is DirectX 9 that probably requires the library in question to be installed separately.

Just downloaded the game and fired it up. Worked perfectly. Even with having the very latest version of Win 10 (1903).

I cannot get single player to load or run on a recent PC build under Win 10.0.19042. System specs are Ryzen 9 3950X, ROG STRIX X570-E MB, ASUS RTX 2080TI (drivers current as of writing), 128GB RAM, Seagate 1TB Firecuda 520 SSD.

When I click the "Launch" button in Steam, a command line window opens and then immediately closes after which the green "Launch" button reappears in Steam and the game does not load.

I have checked the integrity of the files with no issues found and even performed a complete uninstall/reinstall with no effect on the failure to launch. Multiplayer will load without issue, but single player always fails. Any advice on how to rectify would be appreciated.

I just did the same, Very similar specs to yourself.

Still can't get it to run on my desktop PC. Tried running it on a Microsoft Surface Pro 5, which is a potato as a gaming machine, and it runs fine. No idea why the difference.

Ok so i have looked all over the internet for this problem fix. Nothing has worked thus far. But what i have noticed is that there is no Wolf sp folder in local app data when installed, only MP. Why would this be? Could any one share this folder?

I've never had the issue where the sp folder was not created. Run the file integrity check to confirm it's not there. I deleted the SP folder as a test and then ran file integrity and it reported 1400+ files were missing and downloaded them. The game still didn't work after that. As I previously reported, I've completely uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it numerous times and it never works.
