I have no idea what I am doing

I have explored every inch of the map and it seems like the platforms that lead to new places are unreachable. I kept checking the shop to find accesories that could make me jump further but there is nothing.

I have no idea where to go from here. I have pretty much done all the side quests I can.

For example the hide and seek quest requires you to get on a platform that is just out of reach in lastation. Same with the alien quest in the ratchet volcano. What now?

There are areas/plataforms you cannot reach yet, you get abilitys later on to reach them.

I have no idea, I just got to the part where someone ran past me and dropped a book that I assume is histoire . Then other people showed up to chase her down. After that, I went all over the map and I have idea what it wants me to do. My quest log only shows me side quests which I cannot complete now because they require getting on platforms I cannot jump to.

So you are in volcano area, near the entrance.
Keep going deeper into volcano ( generally keep going right ), jumping over chasms where needed. You will reach an area where it seems you will fall down no matter what - do so. You will land on ground.
Move left - reach a save crystal (first one). Then keep going, path should be easy visible.

You can also activate the MAP ( no clue what key on keyboard, I'm using PS4 controller and games gives me X-box inputs... ), which shows you how levels are connected, and gives you hints that you need to go down.

No, I have tried to make that jump a few dozen times, there is no ground. I just fall through it then respawn back on the ledge from which I jumped

Disregard that you were right, Took me like 20 more jumps but I somehow passed it. How did you figure that out if I may ask?

Then no clue what is the issue ( or maybe my memory is not very good).

First area is top left of map, where you enter from Westwind valey, I think this is where you saw the scene with book dropping.
Enter next room (toward right) and keep going / fighting mobs. Some of jumps might require you to dash in mid air.
Enter next room and here you should be able to drop down.

I used the map - the one in my previous post. Just to be clear - the map is available ingame, just don't know what is the actual key on keyboard. It does have a 'relative' good indication where is your are / what is next direction.
Also played Odinsphere / got used with similar map exploration.

Well thank you, I checked the map but it wasn't real clear and I tried to make that jump like 30 times. Somehow I caught the edge this time by some miracle.

You can air dash everywhere outside of cities. A (jump) -> RB (dash).

Wait till you get to the archives ... No Mission markers on the map, You are expected to run back and forth like a blue A$$ fly hoping to trigger a cutscene :P

Just got to that part. I cannot find it. I swear I covered every inch of the map. Not just lowee but everything in lastations side too. Even the guild quests are vague. Where I am suppose to find the bosses like the doggo father? No idea. They didn't even make make the monsters appear differently. They are all doggos and you never know what you are fighting until you start the fight
