I give up on this game because the grind is stupid.
i swear every dang time i reach a new area theres always new equipment to learn skills off of and its getting old learning them all.

its 10x worse than tales of bersaria.

Yeah, I gave up about 7-8 times cause the side mission grind was just getting more bull$hit.

The story is what sorta kept me going, as bare as it was most of the time,
I'd just force past the boring parts.
Combat does not get any better, Chrome and Filyn's performance does however.

Also the metal Doggo part is much later, after you unlock the CPUs powers. Well past Leanbox stage

What a surprise! A JRPG game needs you to grind! It's like the game genre is built around grinding a lot or something!

But seriously if you think grinding for skills/abilities in this game is bad then you're gonna hate Final Fantasy IX.

i agree lol nth beats grinding than in FF IX . . . the amount of time needed just to master 1 skill is insane

The system is not forcefully either, you could just use whatever gives you the better stats if you dont care for the extra abilitys, or simply rotate 1 or 2 slots of equipment to ensure you have variety on every character for elemental attacks or passives while learning those abilitys and such.

This is what I was going to comment as review for the game, I MISSED the system from FFIX, while grindy its very hard the reward is pleasant; being able to to have SO MANNY ABILITYS to customize your characters and not being forced to the gear for abilitys afterwards.

Berseria? Try Vesperia, that's where equip learning skills just can make you go crazy mad and start killing people in dark alleys if you would go for grind.

What happened to good old: get XP > Level up > set abbilities from ability points. FF IX and such IMAO are BS systems that artificaly ramp up difficulty and game time

Or you can just go and learn only necessary abilities instead of trying to learn them all. People can can clear this game under 2hrs (skipped cutscenes) so it’s not even that grindy to begin with.

Something I hate from the Re,Birth series, is that you learn the last skill for each character at around lvl 65 or 70; there was no new ability for further leveling the cahracter up other than stats. If the level is meant to be tied to abilitys, I want abilitys to keep appearing till lvl 90 or such. So I can further build up my character the way I want.

I mean FF7 was my very first RPG and in that game I had Cid as a healer...BECAUSE I having the angriest/upset man supporting the rest was hilarious. I know its not efficient or anything but was my first RPG and the way I had the most fun with.

over compulsiveness is a thing you know because i feel like i got to have them all even if i dont need them. like in bloodstained for example i have every piece of gear and shards.

it is a disorder.

Then you have no one else to blame other than yourself for that. Don’t go and blame it on the game cuz it doesn’t force you to grind all abilities in the game. The grinding is not that bad in this game either consider i played the game normally and still got my main 4 to learn all the necessary abilities.

Grinding is an option but was never forced. The game doesn’t exactly have difficulty spike story bosses either. If you want to grind for abilities you can just wait til late game to gain access to Metal Dogoos room specifically made for grinding.

Seems like a personal problem not the games problem. I literally skipped probably 1/3rd of the fights and had no problem. Only point I grinded which wasn't related to getting level 100 was one round of metal dogoos one time and that wasn't really needed was just curious about it.

Plus if you really wanted to grind use the speed up button.

If you want to grind, save it for the metal dogoo room. Learning abilities through regular battles is a massive waste of time and completely unnecessary.
