Stop ruining gaming.
Day 1 dlc is akin to cut content, if it released same time as the game, then there's no reason it couldn't be IN the game.
Vanity stuff, costumes, things of that nature don't count. BUt this is actually cut content.
adding insult to injury, the discount they advertised the game with isn't here.
So uh yeah, nobody that wants the game is buying it until this gets stragihtened out
seems liek this is all pretty bad for gaming as a whole. ( at least when it comes to developer transparency )
But to the reason as to why I still want the game is pretty much because I understand what it is I want. My way of thinking and my restraint is different from most people it seems. I'm simply not buying the DLC because, bad practice or not, it's not necessary for me to enjoy the game. It's optional even in this instance. Just like I didn't get Tira in SC6. I was sold on Geralt and Character Creation. Pretty sure even if I were a fan of Tira, which I'm absolutely not, I would've been fine and just not bought the DLC.
Heck if Tekken 7 had Roger, which I'm absolutely a fan of, as day 1 DLC I still wouldn't have bought it and probably would've waited for a deal/sale at best. But I would've still understood Tekken 7 was one of the best fighting games out there.
But you're right about developer transparency. But I can't act like I know what goes into DLC at all. Personally I feel more comfortable about DLC after a game is released, rather than on the day a game is launched. Unless it's cosmetic. Then I don't really care.
"Hey, want a complete game with all enemies, levels and weapons? Buy the DLC!"
"But, when this content is ready at launch, why is it not in the game?"
"Because then we could not sell you the DLC. Also: If you want all achievements: not without the DLC. Go buy it. We release the rest we cut from the game tomorrow and the day after"
So the DLC was released before the game? ;D
