Episode 8 is purposefully made to be difficult, in order to showcase to the player the anxiety that comes with being on the other side of the interrogation table.
It is also an episode which is more or less difficult depending on the player's choices up until then. This is the moment when the hammer drops and the legal consequences to your actions are most visible.
It's awesome seeing all of you caught up in it and we are sorry if the experience is intended to be quite frustrating. Frustration is part of the life of a law enforcer and we didn't shy away from it in the design of Interrogation.
As a small hint, Elias is written to have emotions that simulate the emotions of players within an Interrogation. Sometimes suspects seem more or less evasive, sometimes we may like them and sometimes they may anger us. It's important for suspects to not foster any negative emotions in us too much, even though it is unavoidable in many moments to foster some negative emotions.
A second small hint is that Elias is after-all Internal Affairs. He is on the lookout for moments in which the player-character admits to wrong-doings, so that he can use these as justifications for his final decision.
Best of luck to you all, I hope you are finding Interrogation engaging and that you will stick to it up until the end.

After he puts the knife away you are free to decide again.
1) Don't admit guilt in beating subjects, not even slightest
2) Don't say anything good about terrorists
3) Don't say anything bad about your team, also say you allow them to choose what to do
4) When being beaten, you can yell and curse, just don't admit anything
5) About the press say that you need it to counteract terrorists propaganda and that you neither love nor hate it.
6) Say you are willing to die for your cause

no, its just being hard for the sake of being hard
Hi!
The trick here is twofold:
a) Don't ever say anything incriminating. Even a tiny slip could get you fired.
b) Try not to make him too angry or too suspicious of you. It's inevitable, but try to balance it out. If you feel that you're going too much in one of the extremes, lay off those options for a bit, even if that means picking the other bad option.
If it's still too frustrating, since a few updates ago, if you're on Challenge Mode you can always switch to Detective Mode from settings (beware that this is permanent and you can't switch back). This will make certain parts of the game easier, including Episode 8.
I also wonder what would happen if you report Elias while being "good" yourself. Might check it later.
